Bobwires’ New Lineup at the 2012 Expo

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

What a great show!

Saturday May 14th was the annual Expo, and we had a great turn out!  If you missed it, come by the shop and we’ll show you the line up of new products for 2012!

Vision X Lights BLOW AWAY the competition with some incredible output in TINY packages.  Very impressive lighting products.

Odyssey Batteries are hands down, THE BEST automotive battery money can buy.  They really last 10 years, they can handle DEEP cycling (not just the 50% that most marine deep cycle batteries supposedly handle) and they have the output capacity to start big engines or power HUGE stereos and other intense loads.

I made a wham-bam display, or at least as quick of construction that we do here at Bobwires, to get some sound at the show.  In the coming weeks this mini display will be modified to look a little better with some inserts and vinyl.  The speaker pods have some fiberglass thrown in the mix, to give it a much cooler look than plain old wood.  Those curves and angles really set the work apart from the boring look most displays have, and those same principles are applied in out custom fabrication projects in your vehicle!

Restoration Projects

Friday, May 4th, 2012

In the last week we have worked on a couple of classics.  Bobwires is the one-stop-shop for your project, new or old!

We buffed the paint on this ’60 Thunderbird, and the ’62 Skylark got a pair of speakers and some prep work for a complete stereo to follow.

The Burb

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Here’s a good example of a vehicle that didn’t lose function when we added a killer stereo system.  Lots of seating and plenty of cargo space are a good thing, and a custom subwoofer enclosure tucked away under the stock trim keeps all that space usable.

We opted to run a multi-channel Arc Audio amp, Infinity 8″ subs, Arc KAR series speakers, and a Sony head unit, and a little bit of STP deadener to tighten up the door panels.

Shop Truck – Work in Progress

Here’s a sneak peak on the Dodge’s stereo system.  The box is in primer, just got to do a little more shaping and the end caps are ready to go.

Steel amp rack is next.

Stay tuned for more!

Bobwires Audio

Welcome to the new bobwires.com! This new site has been a long time in the making, and we hope it will be better in every way!  If you see any typos, bad links, or generally confusing stuff, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We really appreciate it.  Please check back often to keep up with the latest promotions!

This is the WordPress platform, so we will now have a blog-style home page where we post all the latest goings-on in the shop, special sale items, monthly specials, and custom projects.  Over the next couple of months we will transition all of the old portfolio into new blog posts to better explain the jobs, and make them easier to navigate.

We moved to our new, and hopefully FINAL, location last spring, and are still fixing things up and building new shelves and cabinets. The audio display is in the works…. still…. and that massive undertaking is turning out really well.

Bobwires has expanded, and now offers a couple of new products and services. We now stock HID lights for most vehicles, with many color choices and lots of custom options available. Viper Window Tint has arrived, to give your vehicle a new style, reduce glare, keep the heat out, and protect your audio equipment or other valuables inside.

New product lines are available, including  Arc Audio and Digital Designs.  Be prepared for a new level of sound in your vehicle, whether you want quality or just earth-shattering bass!

Our Detailing services are really picking up steam!  Now is the time to get your car looking good and protected from the hash elements we face here in southeast.

Thanks for visiting!

Custom Tahoe Enclosure

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

Want some bump and still haul the groceries?  This tahoe now sounds great, thanks to JL Audio and Infinity, and still has room for cargo!

Eclipse supplied the headunit with iPod and Blutooth connectivity, Infinity Kappa Perfect speakers light up the doors, and JL did the rest with a 13w6 and an HD900/5.  This is a very clean, functional system.

Buick LeSabre

Monday, December 19th, 2011

This ’05 Buick came in stock and went out sounding sweet.  The Eclipse head unit provided the signal with Bluetooth and Satellite Radio built in.  Signal from there went to a pair of JL Audio HD Amps, and finally to the Infinity 6×9′s in the rear, JL Audio components up front, and Infinity Kappa 10″ subs.

The trunk got some custom work to step up the look of this smooth ride. We chose to keep the trunk wall nice and simple to keep as much usable trunk space as possible without using any fiberglass.  The aluminum Buick logo sets off the build, revealing the Amps through some perforated aluminum.

The speakers went to the factoty locations with minimal sound deadener for this already quiet car.  The Sirius Radio was tied into the factory antenna.  Custom RCA cables ensure a cable of the exact length required, solid connections, clean signal, and no noise issues. (more…)

Old School Silverado

Monday, December 19th, 2011

This 90′s Chevy was in and out of Bobwires a few times over the course of 2 years.  We removed a prefab box in the rear to install a MASSIVE custom box for a pair of JL Audio 12w7′s with 1000/1′s on top.  There were MB Quart Q series components up front in the factory location when we started, we just relocated the crossovers to the new amp rack.

The next phase consisted of new kick panels for the aforementioned Q’s and some customized door panels to house Hybrid Audio Legatia L8′s – some serious midbass drivers!
